Cone Credit Union (CCU) Certificate (CD Rates) Rates

Neenah, Wisconsin, based Cone Credit Union (CCU) is offering  is advertising some highest certificate rates (CD rates) around for short term certificates. Finding really good certificate rates or bank CD rates isn't easy these days since the rate curve is flat thank's to the Federal Reserve. Of course that are other factors at play forcing the Fed to keep interest rates low but it's hard for retirees to live off of investment income when the highest CD rates aren't that high.

The shorest term certificate at  Cone Credit Union is their 6 month certificate. 6 month certificate rates are at at 0.69 percent with an APY of 0.70 percent. Cone Credit Union has lowered the interest rates they offer over the past several years but that isn't unusual since all credit union CD rates and CD rates at banks have been going lower for years now.

Cone Credit Union's 6 month certifcate rates are considerably higher than FDIC's current national average 6 month CD rate of 0.17 percent. Cone CU's 180 day certificate rate is also higher than 6 month jumbo CD rates in the FDIC national average which are at 0.18 percent this week. There are higher CD rates available from banks on our rate list right now for 6 month certificates of deposit, but not much higher. The best CD rates on our 6 month rates list are at 0.92 percent.

CCU certificate rates on 1 year certificates are 10 basis points higher than their 6 month rates. Current 12 month certificate rates are at 0.79 percent with an APY of 0.80 percent. That rate is competitive but there are better CD rates around on 1 year certificates of deposit. Right now on our 1 year bank CD rates list you can find several CD rates at banks above 1.00 percent.

Certificate account balances of $5,000.00 or higher at Cone Credit Union pay a higher rate at 0.89 percent with an APY of 0.90 percent.
