Current CD Interest Rates on 1 Year, 2 Year and 3 Year Certificates of Deposit

Current CD rates are low and have been lower the past several years. While the difference in the best CD rates or lowest CD rates for a particular certificate of deposit term isn't much right now it still pays to search for the highest CD rates. Below we have complied the top CD interest rates on our rate lists for 1 year, 2 year and 3 year certificates of deposit.Average 1 year bank CD rates are at 0.71 percent in Bankrate's national rate survey. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's (FDIC) national average rate survey is even lower at 0.27 percent.There are 1 year CD rates at banks higher than the averages. Right now the best 1 year CD bank rates on our list are at 1.09 percent with an APY of 1.10 percent.


Three different banks are currently offering this rate and yield. CIT Bank CD rates, Doral Bank CD rates and Bank of Internet CD rates on 1 year certificates of deposit are all that rate and yield. MetLife Bank is right behind these banks with a 1 year CD rate of 1.04 percent and an APY of 1.05 percent. The third highest rate on our list are Ally Bank CD rates at 1.03 percent an an APY of 1.04 percent. Moving onto the best CD rates on 2 year certificates of deposit we find current average 2 year rate in bankrate's rate survey is at 0.92 percent. The highest CD rate is from CIT Bank. Current 2 year CIT Bank CD rates are at 1.24 percent with an APY of 1.25 percent. The second highest CD rate on 2 year certificates of deposit on our rate list is from ableBanking. The bank's current 2 year rate is at 1.19 percent with an APY of 1.20 percent. The third best rate on our 2 year rate list is from three different banks. Barclays Bank CD rates, Doral Bank CD rates and Discover Bank CD rates are all at 1.14 percent with an APY of 1.15 percent. Moving onto the third best CD rate on 2 year certificates of deposit we have Ally bank. Current Ally Bank CD rates are at 1.13 percent with an APY of 1.14 percent. Right now the current average 3 year CD rate in the FDIC's national rate survey is at 0.62 percent. Jumbo CD rates are averaging 0.63 percent in the FDIC's rate survey. We have 3 year CD rates that are well above the FDIC's average rates. Doral Bank tops our 3 year CD rates list at 1.44 percent with an APY of 1.45 percent. CIT Bank which tops our rate list on 1 year and 2 year CD rates has the second highest 3 year CD rate at 1.41 percent with an APY of 1.42 percent. The third highest 3 year rate on our list is from three different banks. Discover Bank CD rates, Barclays Bank CD rates and ablebanking CD rates on 3 year CDs are all at 1.34 percent with an APY of 1.35 percent. Ally Bank 3 year CD rates on 3 year CDs are right behind at 1.33 percent with an APY of 1.34 percent.
