The fed also kept it’s language intact on keeping the fed funds rates low for an extended period of time since inflation is subdued.</p><p>The current national average 3 month CD rate at banks and credit unions is 0.34 percent this week, down from 0.44 percent in June. The current national average 6 month CD rate 0.41 percent is week, down from 0.682 in June. 12 month CD rates are averaging 0.86 percent also down from June's average of 0.965 percent.</p>
