Today’s 1 Year Bank CD Rates: Highest CD Interest Rate at 1.15%

Average CD rates haven't moved much this year though most banks and credit unions have lowered the rates they pay on accounts. The highest CD rates on 1 year certificates of deposit are at 1.10 percent or higher. The best bank CD rates on our 12 month rate list are from Doral Bank at 1.14 percent with an annual percentage yield of 1.15 percent.CIT Bank CD rates on their Achiever certificates of deposit (min bal $25k) are at 1.09 percent with an APY of 1.10 percent. While the Achiever CD account requires a higher opening balance if you have $25k to invest this is one of the best CD rates at banks available and the rate is higher than most jumbo CD rates that require a minimum opening balance of $100,000.If you don't have $25k to invest CIT Bank also offers a regular certificate of deposit with a minimum opening balance of only $1k. The current regular CD interest rate is 1.04 percent with an APY of 1.05 percent. Still one of the best CD rates at banks these days.


Two more banks offering 1 year CD interest rates at 1.04 percent with an APY of 1.05 percent include MetLife Bank and Colorado FSB. MetLife Bank has also has a minimum opening deposit of $25k while Colorado FSB only requires $5k to open an account. You can open MetLife certificates of deposit with less than $25k but the CD rates are not has high as the $25k account. In fact the CD rates are tiered and based on the account balance, go to the bank's website for a complete list of rates and account balances. Another bank offering 12 month CD rates above 1.00 percent is Ally Bank. Today's 1 year Ally Bank CD rates are at 1.01 percent with an APY of 1.02 percent. There is no minimum opening account balance at Ally Bank or a CD account. One more big national bank has a very competitive CD rate that is just below 1.00 percent. 1 year Discover Bank CD rates are at 0.90 percent with an APY of 0.90 percent.
